Hill-Rom Progressa Bed Features
The bed has an air mattress system that will turn the patient
from left, center and right and will help treat and prevent
bed sores and skin break down and also has a “percussion and
vibration” pulmonary care feature – system in place to help
with upper respiratory congestion which replicates what a
respiratory therapist would do in a hospital.
An Air Mattress Designed to Treat and Prevent Bed Sores
The “Progressa” bed has an air mattress system designed for treating
and preventing bed sores and skin breakdown. A layer of cool air
referred to as “low air loss” runs on top and the bed also has
a “lateral rotation” feature which helps move the patient left,
center and right. These beds are sold and used by patients that
require acute care – ICU care including patients with MS, ALS,
quadriplegic, paraplegic and other types of serious illness or conditions.
